David Glauber

My name is David Glauber. Over the past ten years, I have proudly taught U.S. and World History at numerous colleges in the South Florida area. I enjoy all aspects of history, including teaching, conducting research, and helping others to meet their research needs. I enjoy working with people and helping them to succeed. That is what led me into the education field. Working in a library/museum setting, however, has always been my dream. I loved my year-long internship at the Plantation Historical Museum in 2006-2007, and after obtaining a master’s in history, I planned to pursue a second master’s degree in library science, but had an immediate opportunity to gain experience in a field related to librarianship, teaching.

Teaching gave me important library-related experience as it improved my communication skills, which is primary in helping patrons to find needed resources and is instrumental in offering information literacy training to developing scholars. Furthermore, teaching gave me managerial experience as I was responsible for setting the guidelines for my class, and with academic freedom, determining the best ways for my students to learn.

With dual master’s degrees in history and library science (by the end of the spring 2017 semester), I am uniquely trained to find, interpret, and elaborate on the historical background of resources that may be of use to patrons. While my historical training endears me to work with documents and to assist with research-related endeavors, I am a team-player who is versatile and capable of taking on any position that is asked of me. Through my hard work, dedication, team-focused approach, and leadership skills, I will be a great asset to the library, museum, and/or institution that I serve.
